Revolutionize Your Health Game: My Top 5 Fitness Apps!

Unlocking a Healthier You - One App at a Time

I've been on a journey to live my best life, and making my health a priority is often at the top of the list. I thought I’d share the apps that have stuck around for at least six months or longer. Let me give you the lowdown on my top 5 picks!

  1. FitnessAI (Weightlifting App)

    • What it is: This app is like having a personal trainer in your phone. It uses AI to tailor workouts just for you. It also allows you to pick the equipment you have at home and make the workouts using those only.

    • Pro: The workouts adapt as you progress. So as a succeed and fail at lifts it tweaks it for next time.

    • Con: Doesn’t push the workout to Apple Health as ‘Exercise’ to complete my daily rings! Also, costs $89 for the unlimited version but there is a free trial at first.

  2. Peloton (Bike and Tread)

    • What it is: Most know what Peloton is but it connects online classes with your equipment. We own both the Bike and Tread. I’ve also used the Peloton app outside as well!

    • Pro: The variety of classes and community feel keeps you motivated. It also has programs like Powerzone training that I’ve talked about before, love it!

    • Con: The equipment can be a bit pricey, but it's a worthy investment for your health. I never thought I’d still be using it today. We got it in 2019.

"Fitness is not about being better than someone else. It’s about being better than you used to be."

  1. MyFitnessPal (Food Logging)

    • What it is: This app is your go-to for tracking what you eat. It's like a food diary but smarter.

    • Pro: Huge food database makes logging meals super easy.

    • Con: Some features are locked behind a premium subscription. Can feel like one of those thankless routines after a while though!

  2. Eight Sleep (Sleep Tracking)

    • What it is: This isn't just an app – it's a whole sleep system that tracks and improves your sleep.

    • Pro: It’s a mattress that can get both hot and cold which for my wife is perfect because we are exactly the opposite on what we want to go to bed. Also offers detailed insights into your sleep patterns (light, REM, Deep, other HR stats too).

    • Con: The sleep technology gear (like the smart mattress) can be an investment.

  3. Withings (Weight Tracking)

    • What it is: Perfect for keeping an eye on your weight and health metrics.

    • Pro: Syncs seamlessly with other health apps for a holistic view of your health.

    • Con: The smart scales and other devices can be a bit pricey.

Each of these has their place in my heath journey. I also like that they all push to Apple Health to be able to aggregate the information as well. I can then look at more holistic trends then. Let me know if you guys have any questions about any of these! Happy to expand!!
